Treat Box

I made this treat box for the Karen's Doodles Netherlands Doodle Diva challenge. I used the new freebie from Karen's Doodles called Puffin Christmas. The base of the box is red. I embossed the white cardstock using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots) and backed it in hunter green cardstock. I backed a red paper heart doily in hunter green cardstock and added it to the left back corner of the box. I punched the sentiment out using a 1 3/8" circle punch. I backed it in red and then in white. I then punched out a 2" scalloped circle out of hunter green and backed it in white. Then added it to the heart.

I then added the image to the bottom right corner. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I punched snowflakes using two different sized Martha Stewart punches. I punched the larger in red and the smaller in white. Added the white to the red and then added a red gemstone to the center. 2 Sisters Challenge ~ Special Challenge

MERRY CHRISTMAS! ! !

I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas with your families and friends. We will be having our tree here at home and then heading down to my parent's house for dinner. Then tomorrow my kids are in a concert/play at church. They have worked so very hard on it and I can't wait to see the finished result.

It's time for a new challenge at 2 Sisters and today we have an extra special one for you. We would like to see how many cards we can collect for cancer patients at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. If you create a thinking of you (hello, just a note, just for you, etc..) card, write an encouraging note inside and address the envelope to any patient and then send it to Stacy at:

Stacy Walker
15 Willow Way
Swanville, Maine 04915
USA

and she will then hand deliver them to Brigham & Women's on January 30th. The cards will then be handed out to the patients by the nurses. Let's see how many cards we can send down with Stacy to help uplift the spirits of the cancer patients. We just have one request please do not send any get well cards. Thank you.

The image I used is ballerina doggie from Karen's Doodles. The patterned paper I used is from EK Success (chloe stripes & gingham). I added crystal stickles to the lines on the patterned paper. I also added it to the white cardstock surrounding the image and all the pink cardstock. Then I added it to the image and to the edges of the pink paper flowers.

Pink Treat Box

This is a treat box that I made using Snowy Hug from Magnolia Stamps. I used 2 shades of pink. One is a couple shades darker than the other. The pinks are called st. valentino (darker) and sugar & spice (lighter). I used st. valentino for the base. I embossed a strip of white cardstock using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots) and my sizzix machine. I backed the strip of white in sugar & spice. I did the same thing with the piece of white cardstock for the background. I used a white heart paper doily and backed it in sugar and spice and added it to the upper left corner of the back of the box. I then punched out my sentiment, "May this Christmas be as special as you are", using a 1 3/8" circle punch and backed it in sugar & spice and then in white. I punched out a 2" scalloped circle in st. valentino and then backed it in white. I added the sentiment to the scalloped circle and then added it to the heart. I made a bow out of light pink ribbon and added it to the top of the sentiment. I added crystal stickles to the white around the sentiment.

I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. This week's challenge at Paper Sundaes is to cut it out. So I cut out the image and added it to the bottom right corner of the box. I added crystal stickles to the snow on the broom and at the bottom of the image. I added white flocking to the hats and jacket on the image. I added 2 pink rhinestones for the buttons on the image for the challenge at Beary Sweet Challenges (pearls & gems). I punched snowflakes out of the st. valentino cardstock and then smaller snowflakes out of white cardstock. I added the smaller white snowflake to the larger pink snowflake. I added one to each side of the box, one to the upper right back corner and then one to the bottom upper left corner. I added a pink rhinestone to the center of each one.

Elisabeth Bell's Biggest December Blog Candy Giveaway

Have you heard about the big blog candy giveaway from Elisabeth Bell? With the help of Belles n Whistles, SCACD and Whiff of Joy, Elisabeth is giving away 38 stamps to one lucky winner. For a chance to win you need to create a project using one of Elisabeth's stamps. I created a corner bookmark using Beary Big Hugs from Bells n Whistles. This is the first time I have made a corner bookmark. I can't wait to get going on my next one. The base of my bookmark is navy blue cardstock. I punched the bottom using the lace heart border punch from Martha Stewart. The top triangle of my bookmark is covered in white cardstock, leaving just a thin strip of the navy blue showing. I added a strip of patterned paper (blue with white dots) just below the white cardstock and added a strip of light blue ribbon to cover the seam the two papers created. I stamped my image out and colored it using crayola and prisma colored pencils. Then I cut the top portion of the stamped image using a circle template. I layered the image on navy blue, then white and then finally blue. I added a large blue paper flower and a smaller blue paper flower and a bow made out of the light blue ribbon. to the right corner just beside the image. I added crystal stickles to the edges of the ribbon, bow, flowers, to the image, on the cardstock backing the image and to the dots on the patterned paper.

My daughter has already asked if she can have this bookmark. We got her some books for Christmas so I think that I will give it to her after she opens up her books.

First & Last

The challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is to post the first card you made and the newest card you've made. This isn't the first card I made. But it is the first card I posted and the first card I have a photo of. The card I made was just a simple birthday card. This card was made before I stared stamping. It was so weird to look back and see just how much my card style has changed during the past year. This is my newest card. I used Magnolia's Snowy Hug. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. The sketch I used is from The Sweet Stop. I used the color combination of aqua, dark aqua and white. My card base is aqua that is backed in white and backed again in dark aqua. I backed the image the same way. The strip of cardstock behind the image is white embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder (dots) and then I backed it in dark aqua and then in white. I punched two strips of cardstock, one white and one dark aqua, behind the image using a lace heart border punch from Martha Stewart. I layered the white on the dark aqua and added a light aqua with white dots ribbon to the top of the punched strip. I backed my sentiment, "with love at Christmas", in dark aqua and then again in white. I added crystal stickles to all the white cardstock. I added a small snowflake punched out of dark aqua to to the sentiment and added some aquamarine rhinestones to the snowflake and the bottom of the sentiment. I punched out two snowflakes, a large white and a small dark aqua, using two different sized Martha Stewart punches. I added crystal stickles and an aquamarine rhinestone to the snowflake. To the image I added crystal stickles to the snow and white flocking. To finish off my card I added 3 aquamarine rhinestones to the upper left corner.

A Snowy Hug

Here is another Christmas card I made using Magnolia's Snowy Hug. The image is for the challenge at Paper Cutz which is to use a snowman or snowflake. I used the color combination of pink, rose and white. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. The sketch I used is from Friday Sketchers. The base of my card is pink cardstock backed in white and then backed in rose. I added two blocks of rose backed in white. I backed my image and sentiment in rose backed in white. I added crystal stickles to all the white cardstock. I added a strip of white ribbon behind the image and added crystal stickles to the edges of the ribbon. I punched white snowflakes and small pink snowflakes using two different sized Martha Stewart punches. I added the pink snowflake to the white snowflake and then added crystal stickle to them and added a pearl in the center of each. On the sentiment I added a small pink snowflake and added crystal stickles and a pearl to the center. On the image I added crystal stickles to the snow on the broom and at the bottom of the image. Treat Box

I made this treat box as a gift to hold a gift card and some candy. I used Snowy Hug from Magnolia Stamps. I created the box in purple then added white cardstock, embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots) and back it in light purple. I added a white heart paper doily backed in purple. I typed the sentiment on my computer. "May this Christmas be as special as you are". I punched the sentiment out using a 1 3/8" circle punch and backed it in light purple and white and added crystal stickles to the white. Then I punched a 2" scalloped circle out of purple and backed it in light purple and added crystal stickles to the light purple. I added the sentiment to the scalloped circle and then added it to the heart. I added a bow out of purple plaid ribbon and added it to the top of the sentiment. Then I added crystal stickles to the edges of the bow. I punched three snowflakes out of purple cardstock and one snowflake out of light purple cardstock. To each purple snowflake I added a smaller snowflake punched out of light purple and to the light purple snowflake I added a small purple snowflake. I added a purple gemstone to the center of each snowflake. I added one purple snowflake to the top right back corner and one to each side of the box. I added the light purple snowflake to the top left corner of the bottom of the box. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils, cut out around the image and added purple gemstones for the buttons.
