Karen's Doodles Design Team Call

Karen's Doodles is having a design team call!!  They are looking for 5 new Doodle Princesses!! How cool is that!! When I read about this I knew that I had to take a chance and enter.  I absolutely love the cuteness of Karen's images. So you can imagine how excited I would be to have an opportunity to create for such an amazing artist. So with a huge goofy grin on my face and my fingers crossed I am entering this card into the Karen's Doodles Design Team Call.....

I decided to use two of Karen's images on my card, Parade Day Girl and Parade Day Boy. Aren't they just the cutest! Getting ready to celebrate the 4th and thanking the soldiers for all they do for us. The sketch that I used is from Sweet Sunday Sketch

I used red cardstock for the base of my card.  I cut two squares out of navy with stars patterned paper and backed them in white. I added one to the upper left corner and one to the bottom right corner.  I colored the image using colored pencils and backed it in red and then again in white. I added it to the middle of the card. I backed the thank you sentiment in navy blue and then again in white.  I finished off the card by adding three white stars with blue gems to the upper right corner.

Perfectly Purple

Good afternoon ladies! I had a really great day today. My mom, sister and two of my nephews came up today.  While the kids all played...video games of course... my mom, sister and I got a little crafty and made some cards. So I've got a few cards to share with you today.  My first card is for the perfect purples challenge at Karen's Doodles.  The image I used is called Love At First Sight.  The base of my card is wild pansy (purple) backed in grape (dark purple).  I punched a strip of white cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and added it to a strip of purple plaid cardstock.  Then added it to the left side of the card.  I added a white satin ribbon across the middle of the card. I colored the image using different shade of purple colored pencils. I backed it in grape and then again in white and added it to the right side of the card.  I created a bow out of the white satin ribbon and added it to the left side and finished off the card by adding two white pearls above the photo and two white pearls below the photo.

I added a strip of white cardstock behind the stars and then added a strip of red cardstock at the bottom of the navy blue.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I cut the image out in an oval and then backed it in red.  The sentiment that I used is a rubon that I added it a block of white cardstock and then backed it in red. 2 Sisters Challenge ~ Special Challenge

MERRY CHRISTMAS! ! !

I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas with your families and friends. We will be having our tree here at home and then heading down to my parent's house for dinner. Then tomorrow my kids are in a concert/play at church. They have worked so very hard on it and I can't wait to see the finished result.

It's time for a new challenge at 2 Sisters and today we have an extra special one for you. We would like to see how many cards we can collect for cancer patients at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. If you create a thinking of you (hello, just a note, just for you, etc..) card, write an encouraging note inside and address the envelope to any patient and then send it to Stacy at:

Stacy Walker
15 Willow Way
Swanville, Maine 04915
USA

and she will then hand deliver them to Brigham & Women's on January 30th. The cards will then be handed out to the patients by the nurses. Let's see how many cards we can send down with Stacy to help uplift the spirits of the cancer patients. We just have one request please do not send any get well cards. Thank you.

The image I used is ballerina doggie from Karen's Doodles. The patterned paper I used is from EK Success (chloe stripes & gingham). I added crystal stickles to the lines on the patterned paper. I also added it to the white cardstock surrounding the image and all the pink cardstock. Then I added it to the image and to the edges of the pink paper flowers.
