Stupid Cupid

Good evening everyone!  Tonight is the first chance that I've had to show you my DT card for this week's challenge at 2 Sisters.  I figure a couple days late is better than never right?  Well, anyway hope you all think it was worth the wait........

Our challenge this week is RED and/or PINK and WHITE.  We are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps.  The image I used is called Stupid Cupid.
I started with a red card base. I cut a piece of pink just a little smaller than the base.  I added faux stitching around the edges. I cut a piece of mini heart patterned paper and added a piece of red cardstock that I punched using a lace heart border punch.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma color pencils.  I added faux stitching around the image and then backed it in red card stock. I added garnet red glitter glue to the sunglasses, arrows and sash.  I also added crystal stickles to the wings.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and then backed it in red card stock.  I added garnet red glitter glue to the heart on the sentiment.  I finished off the card by adding 3 red card stock hearts. (from when I punched out the heart border).  I added red glitter glue to each of the hearts.

This week we are being sponsored by..........

Our theme this week is......
THINGS WITH WINGS

The image I used is called  SYMPATHY.  I started with a sage green card base.  I added a piece of light blue card stock backed in white card stock.  Then I added a strip of striped card stock with a piece of white punched card stock added to the bottom.  I added that across the middle.

I colored the image using crayola and prisma color pencils.  I cut it out in an oval and added it to sage green card stock.  Then again to white card stock. I cut around it using scallop scissors.  I added the image to the center of the card.  I layered four paper flowers on top of each other (white, gray, blue and pink) and added a white pearl to the center.  I stamped the sentiment "with sympathy" onto the bottom corner and added three white pearls to the upper corner.

2 Sisters Challenge ~ Distressing

This week at 2 Sisters we are being sponsored by Sitchy Bear Stamps and the challenge is DISTRESSING.  Distressing is not one of my favorite things so I don't do it very often. So that's probably why I found this challenge to be a little difficult for me.  But in the end I'm very excited about how my card turned out.  The image that I used for my card is from Floppy Latte Designs and is called Guarding The Egg.  I colored this image using crayola colored pencils.  For the distressing I tore around the image and each piece of cardstock.  I sponged around the edges of each using brown ink and then lightly on the very edges using black ink. The look that I was going for was a burnt look which I feel in the end I was able to achieve.  I added 3 brown pearls to the upper right corner and stamped the sentiment right onto one of the cardstock blocks.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Pixie Cottage: Sketch and One For The Boys

Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes
