Tinkerbell

Here is sketch # 2 for the challenges over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Krafty Friends Facebook Page.  The extra to this sketch is PINK.

Here is my take on the sketch....

I started with a dark pink (sassy) card base.  I added a piece of pink and white dot patterned paper backed with white card stock.  I punched a strip of white card stock using an eyelet lace border punch. I layered a 3/8" white ribbon onto a 5/8" light pink ribbon and added it to the piece of card stock that I punched.  I embossed another piece of white card stock using a flower embossing folder and backed it in dark pink (sassy) card stock.  The image I used is Tinkerbell from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir pens and backed her in dark pink (sassy) card stock.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and backed it in dark pink (sassy) card stock.  I added diamond stickles to her wings. I also added 3 white jellies to the upper corner of the card and 3 more under the embossed card stock.

I am entering this card into the following challenges...

Teddy Bear Love

Hi all.... well, we had another snow day here in Maine.  But it finally has stopped and it looks like my kids might actually make it back to school tomorrow.  But I was happy to have another day with them home and I even spent a little time being crafty and made this birthday card.

The sketch I used is from the current "take your pick" challenge at Papertake Weekly.  I ended up rotating the sketch so that the text would be on the side instead of the bottom.

To create my card I started with a 5 x 5 card base.  I added a piece of blue plaid patterned paper backed in white card stock. I cut a piece of red and white star patterned paper mimicking the shape on the sketch and layered that onto the blue plaid.  I embossed a small rectangle of lightning blue card stock using a dot embossing folder, backed it in white card stock and added it to the bottom of the red and white star paper. I punched a piece of white card stock using an eyelet lace border punch, added a piece of red ribbon to it and placed it going down the card. The image I used is Teddy Bear Love from Belles n Whistles. I colored it using Spectrum Noir pens and backed it in red and white card stock.  I decided to place the image at an angle on the card so that more of the shape of the paper behind would show.  I layered a white paper flower onto a blue paper flower and added a red goosebump to the center. I added the flower to the bottom corner of the image.  I stamped the sentiment "happy birthday" directly onto the blue plaid paper at the top corner of the card and added 3 red goosebumps under the sentiment.  I also added 3 more red goosebumps at an angle to the top corner of the image.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Snowy Hug Tilda

I used Snowy Hug Tilda from Magnolia Stamps to create this easel card. I love snowmen this image has to be one of my most favorite snowman images.

For the front of my card I started with a pink 5x5 card base.  I added a piece of pink and white dot patterned card stock that I backed in white card stock.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir pens and backed it in pink and white card stock.  My fence is Magnolia Lovely Fence Doohickey Die cut out of white card stock. I just love the little hearts that run along the tops of the fence posts.  I decided to add the fence at an angle to the bottom front of the card.  Then I punched 2 snowflakes from white card stock and 2 smaller snowflakes from pink card stock.  I layered the snowflakes, added a pink gem to the center of each and added one to the upper corner of the image and the other just above the fence on the opposite side of the image. I also added 2 pink gems to the snowman for buttons.

For the inside of my card I again started with a pink card base. I added a smaller piece of pink and white dot patterned card stock backed in white card stock to the bottom half of the inside.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and backed it in pink and white card stock. I punched another snowflake out of white card stock and a smaller snowflake from pink card stock.  I layered them and added a pink gem to the center and added it to the corner of my sentiment.  I added 3 more pink gems to the bottom corner of the inside of my card.  I added diamond stickles to the snowflakes and to the snow on the snowman's broom.

Ice Fishing Penguin

Hi all..... Hope everyone is having a safe and warm day.  We are in the middle of a blizzard here in Maine.  We are expected to get at least 2 feet of snow before this is done.  YUCK!! I am so ready for summer!! But a snow day is a perfect excuse to spend some time being crafty. So I spent the morning with my kiddos and then snuck off for a couple hours and made a couple cards.

A view out my kitchen door earlier today.

Anyway enough about the storm and a little about my card....

In my church we have a lot of guys who love to fish.  So this freebie image from Deedee's Digis was the perfect image to create a card for one of them.  I started with a dark blue card base and added a piece of blue patterned paper backed in white card stock.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir pens and backed it in dark blue and white card stock.  The sentiment is also part of the freebie from Deedee's Digis.  I also backed that in dark blue and white card stock.  I punched four snowflakes from white card stock and added them to my card.  I added diamond stickles to the ice on the image and the snowflakes.

Edward Elephant Flower

Hi all..... today is the last day for the Bugaboo Stamps Birthday Bash over at Catch The Bug Challenges.  Today's challenge is a recipe challenge..... pick your favorite circus treat (of the 5 listed) and use the recipe attached to the treat.  So what is my favorite circus treat? Well... COTTON CANDY of course! So since I chose cotton candy my recipe was.... USE FLOCK AND THE
COLORS PINK AND YELLOW.

To create my card I used the following sketch from the current challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack. I flipped it to as I thought that for my card the sentiment would work much better on the opposite side of the image than what the sketch was set up for.

I started with a light pink card base and added a piece of yellow and white dotted paper. I punched a piece of white card stock using an eyelet lace border punch and added it to a strip of light pink card stock then added a piece of white ribbon across the center of it. I added this to the bottom of my card. I layered a yellow paper daisy onto a white paper daisy, added a pink goosebump  to the center and added it to the ribbon.  I colored my image using Spectrum Noir pens.  I backed the sentiment and the image with light pink card stock.  To added white flocking to each of the white dots on the background paper.

Flower Jar

This is my take on Day 4 of the Birthday Bash going on over at Catch The Bug Challenges.  The challenge is a color challenge with this color pallet.....

I used all six colors in my image but decided to use only one of the colors in my card.  I felt that this helped bring more attention to the boldness of the image and help it POP off the card.

To create my card I used the following sketch from Crafting When We Can.....

I started with a turquoise card base. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir pens.  The embossing in done using a Cuttlebug dots embossing folder.  The gems are blue bubbles from Queen & Co.  I backed everything in turquoise card stock and added it to a piece of white card stock.

Clyde Birthday ~ Card For A Boy

Bugaboo is celebrating 5 years and there is a big party happening over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog.  This is my card for day 3 (Monday).  The challenge is to take inspiration from the following photo. So what inspiration did I take from this gorgeous cake? Well..... first I decided to pull colors from the image.... I used blue, lime green and white for my main colors and in my image I used red, blue, lime green and purple.  My second choice of inspiration was the red balloon that Clyde is holding.... in the inspiration photo both the clown and the elephant are holding a red balloon.

Here is my card......

To create this card I started with a blue card base and added a piece of white card stock that I embossed using a Cuttlebug dot embossing folder and backed in lime green card stock.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir pens and backed it in both lime green and blue card stock.  I stamped my sentiment onto white card stock and punched it out using a real estate sign punch from EK Success.  I also backed that in lime green and blue. I also added dots under the "Happy Birthday!" using Spectrum Noir pens.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Summer Tilda With Bow

Hi all..... so one of the things that I've decided to do craft wise this year is to try some new techniques.  So when I saw the current challenge at Magnolia Mania I thought "why not". Since I have always stayed away from the thought of coloring my image in nothing but a black and white theme this was a big challenge for me.  I definitely have some work to do to improve, but I'm very excited about how my very first shot at this turned out.

Here is my card......

To create my card I started with a black card base.  I cut a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than the base and inked around the edges with a black stamp pad.  I cut a piece of black and white striped card stock, inked the edges and backed it in black.  I did the same with a piece of black and white dotted card stock. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, inked around the edges and backed it in black card stock.  I colored the image using different shades of gray Spectrum Noir pens. I then inked around the edges and backed it in black card stock.  I punched 4 small butterflies out of black card stock using a butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  I added liquid pearls to the center of each butterfly and added 2 to the image and 2 to the sentiment.  I also added 3 snowflake pearls to the corner of the image and 3 more to the corner of the striped card stock.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Celebrate Your Birthday

Hi all ...... This card was made for a friend who just celebrated her birthday yesterday. I used the sketch from this week's challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

To create my card I started with a purple plaid card base.  I added a piece of white card stock that I backed in purple (wild pansy) and white card stock.  I stamped the sentiment onto the white card stock.  I used 3 punches on this card... an eyelet lace border punch from Martha Stewart on the bottom portion of the strip of wild pansy card stock, a circle punch from EK Success and a butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.  I embossed the circle with a Cuttlebug dot embossing folder and backed it in wild pansy card stock. The butterflies are punched out of wild pansy card stock and I added diamond stickles to the butterflies. I also added 3 purple gems to the bottom corner of the white card stock and 3 more to the upper corner of  the card base.
