Halloween Jar

Hi! Well, I'm hopefully going to get all the way through this post before the power goes out.  Maine is feeling the outer arms of Sandy right now.  The wind has picked up a little but at least we still have power.  My kids are keeping their fingers crossed to have school canceled tomorrow. LOL.  Anyway on to my post......

Tonight I have a Halloween candy jar to share with you. I created it for a game we played Saturday night at our Harvest Party at church.  The game was to guess how many skittles were in the jar.  And after counting out 583 skittles I really really didn't want to see skittles ever again!!! LOL.  Best of all a 4 year old won the jar!!! She had the closet guess with 500!! Everyone else was guessing in the 200's and 300's range.  The funny part was that her grandfather asked her to tell him a number and she said 5 so he added 00 to the end to make it a guess of 500.

Here is the jar....

I started with a clear glass jar.  I added a strip of black card stock punched on one edge with a spider web border punch.  I added a green ribbon, orange ribbon and black baker's twine all layered onto the strip of black card stock.  I printed out the sentiment, backed it in black card stock and then cut around it using scalloped scissors. I punched mini spiders and added them all over the  jar.  I added a piece of black baker's twine and a piece of green baker's twine around the top of the jar.  I added a bow made out of the green ribbon to the top side of the jar.

I am entering this jar into the following challenges:
