1st Birthday

I created this birthday card for a friends son who just turned one last week.  I used Pirate Bear from Lili of the Valley stamps.

I started with a black card base. I added a piece of red plaid patterned paper to the bottom of the card and to small pieces to the upper corner.  I punched a strip of white card stock using a bubble bath border punch. I added a piece of black ribbon and a piece of black baker's twine to the top of the strip of white card stock.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma color pencils.  I cut the image and the sentiment out in a circle and backed them both in red card stock. I cut around each of them using a pair of scallop scissors.  I added two white pearls to the upper corner and two to the opposite bottom corner.

Halloween Jar

Hi! Well, I'm hopefully going to get all the way through this post before the power goes out.  Maine is feeling the outer arms of Sandy right now.  The wind has picked up a little but at least we still have power.  My kids are keeping their fingers crossed to have school canceled tomorrow. LOL.  Anyway on to my post......

Tonight I have a Halloween candy jar to share with you. I created it for a game we played Saturday night at our Harvest Party at church.  The game was to guess how many skittles were in the jar.  And after counting out 583 skittles I really really didn't want to see skittles ever again!!! LOL.  Best of all a 4 year old won the jar!!! She had the closet guess with 500!! Everyone else was guessing in the 200's and 300's range.  The funny part was that her grandfather asked her to tell him a number and she said 5 so he added 00 to the end to make it a guess of 500.

Here is the jar....

I started with a clear glass jar.  I added a strip of black card stock punched on one edge with a spider web border punch.  I added a green ribbon, orange ribbon and black baker's twine all layered onto the strip of black card stock.  I printed out the sentiment, backed it in black card stock and then cut around it using scalloped scissors. I punched mini spiders and added them all over the  jar.  I added a piece of black baker's twine and a piece of green baker's twine around the top of the jar.  I added a bow made out of the green ribbon to the top side of the jar.

I am entering this jar into the following challenges:

Pippi

I created this card today using Pippi from CC Designs.

The sketch I used is from this week's challenge at There She Goes Clear Stamps.  I started
with an orange card base. I cut a piece of cream card stock slightly smaller than the base.  I cut a piece of brown dotted patterned paper and added it to the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of green card stock and punched it using an eyelet lace border punch and added it across the top of the card.  I punched a piece of cream card stock using the same eyelet lace border punch.  Then I cut two strips out of it and added it to the green card stock.  I cut a strip of green card stock and backed it in orange card stock, added a piece of orange ribbon and added it across the center of the card.  Then I added a bow made out of the same orange ribbon.

I colored the face, hand and hair of the image.  I stamped the image out again on the orange card stock and the brown patterned paper.  I paper pieced on the costume onto the image.  I added diamond stickles to the wings.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Too Cute To Spook

I created this Halloween card using Witchies from Saturated Canary.

I used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I started with a black card base. I added a piece of purple card stock and purple plaid patterned paper.  Then I added a piece of purple striped patterned paper that I backed in black card stock between the purple card stock and purple plaid paper.  I cut a strip of black card stock and punched the bottom edge using a spiderweb border punch. I added a piece of black sheer ribbon just above the punched area and then added a piece of purple dotted ribbon to the center of the black sheer ribbon.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I cut the image out in a circle and inked around the edge with a purple chalk ink pad.  I cut a circle out of black card stock and punched around it using a spiderweb corner punch and then backed the image with it.  I layered a purple cloth flower and a purple paper flower with a lavender rhinestone in the center and added it to the ribbon.  I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out on white card stock. I cut it out and inked around the edges with the purple chalk ink pad.  I added 5 lavender rhinestones to the bottom edge of the image and then 3 more to the plaid paper just above the image.

Here is the inside of the card. . . .

To create the inside a cut a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than the card base.  To the top I added a piece of purple card stock.  Then I punched the bottom edge of a thin strip of black card stock using the spiderweb punch. I added a piece of the purple dotted ribbon between the two. To the bottom I added a piece of the purple plaid patterned paper.  I cut a piece of the purple striped patterned paper and backed it in black card stock. I added it to the top of the plaid paper.  I added 3 rhinestones on each side of the striped paper.

In Case Of Emergency.... Break Jar

October is Pastor Appreciation month.  I created this jar for our pastor.  He loves skittles. So I thought it would be fun to create this jar with the sentiment that says "In case of emergency...break glass".  I added a plastic hammer that I recycled from a game that the kids no longer play with. I thought it would give it that funny little touch. Then filled it with skittles.
