Sew Many Challenges ~ Christmas Project & Sponsor Card

Good morning! It's Friday and that means that it's challenge day at Sew Many Challenges. Today I have 2 projects to share with you. The first one is my ornament for this week's SMC challenge. The challenge this week is to create a Christmas themed project ~ anything but a basic card. This was the first time that I had made anything using a CD. It was alot of fun to do something other than a card and definitely out of my comfort zone. The image I used is Bear In Stocking. I covered the CD in green glitter cardstock. I then added 3 rows of white flace. On the last row I added some red ribbon to the lace and added a bow. I used the same red ribbon and attached a loop at the top for the hanger. Then I covered the back of my ornament in white cardstock to give it a finished look. I added the image using pop squares to make it pop off the ornament. I used an EK Success Daisy Punch and an EK Success Mini Daisy Punch to create the flower at the top of the ornament. (My idea of a hand made poinsetta) I added a red gemstone to the middle of the flower and then three more at the bottom left side of the ornament. Here is my finished CD ornament:

Our sponsor this week is:
Owner: Regina Easter

This week's prize is 3 sets of the winner's choice!!

My second project is a card using images from The Cutting Cafe. Regina sent some images for the DT to play with this week. The set that I used is called Cute Critters. This set is full of cute little bugs. I chose to use the lady bugs and cut each of them out to add to my card to make them look as though they are creeping across my card. I wanted to keep this card simple to bring more focus to the adorable ladybugs. The lady bugs creep across my card until one has finally fallen into the hole in my card. When the card is open it is just the one lady bug showing. I then added a simple red ribbon and bow at the top of my card.

Now it's your turn to show us what you can do with this week's challenge. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. Want these two images? You can get the Bear in Stocking image at Sew Many Cards and the Cute Critters set at The Cutting Cafe'.

I am entering the ornament into this week's challenges at Cute Card Thursday which is anything but square, Christmas Card Challenge which is cut it out and pop it up and Think Ink Tuesday which is to create something out of your comfort zone. Something that you wouldn't normally make.
