LOTV's 9th Birthday

Lili of the Valley is celebrating their 9th birthday this week with a birthday card competion. The prize is 9 stamps of the winner's choice!! Plus the top 3 will be given the opportunity to be guest designers!! How awesome is that!! Here is my card using Rosie With Cake.

I started with a dark brown 5x5 card base. I added a piece of pink card stock cut just slightly smaller than the base. I embossed a piece of white card stock using a dot folder and added it to the bottom of the card.  I cut a strip of pink & brown striped patterned paper and backed it in dark brown. I punched the bottom of the dark brown card stock using an eyelet lace border punch and added a brown dotted ribbon across the middle before adding it just above the embossed card stock.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir and American Crafts Chromatix pens. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and then backed both the image and the sentiment in pink and then again in dark brown.  I added 3 white pearls to the top corner.  I tied a knot out of the ribbon and added it beside the image.  I added crystal stickles to the headband and flame on the image.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Beary Big Hugs

I created this birthday card using Beary Big Hugs from Belles N Whistles.

To create my card I began with a 5x5 purple palisades card base.  I cut a piece of spring breeze a 1/4 inch smaller than the base and backed it in white card stock.  I cut a piece of purple star vellum, backed it in purple palisades card stock and added a sage green ribbon. I added that to the bottom of the card and added a white paper doily.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir and American Crafts Chromatix pens.  I backed the image in purple palisades and then again in white.  I added 4 mini purple rhinestones to the upper corner and 4 more to the opposite bottom corner. I layered white paper flower and a purple paper daisy. I fastened them together with a purple glitter brad and added them to the remaining bottom corner.

To finish off the inside of my card I cut a piece of spring breeze a 1/4 inch smaller than the base and backed it in white.  I cut a smaller square out of purple star vellum, backed it in purple palisades and then again in white and added it to center.  I cut a piece of white card stock, backe it in purple pasisades and then again in white and added to one side of the card. I stamped the sentiment "happy birthday" onto white card stock and backed it in spring breeze and added it to the top of the vellum square.

Lucy's Flower--Valentine/Love

For Valentine's Day this year my wonderful hubby bought me 5 packages of Spectrum Noir pens.  I've been wanting them for a while now but just never felt ready to spend that much money on markers. If your a regular to my blog than you know that I almost always use Crayola and Prisma colored pencils as my coloring medium. So I got to play around with them for my card for this week's challenge at 2 Sisters and I have to say that I LOVE THEM!!! I can't wait to sit down and play with them again and of course I am definitely willing and ready to purchase some more of the sets. Anyway.... this week at 2 Sisters our theme is Valentines/Love.  We are sponsored one final time by The Digi Garden. I love Jacqui's images. They are so adorable and so much fun to play with. What an amazing artist she was.  Jacqui you will be missed.

The image I used is called Lucy's Flower.

To create my card I started with a white card base and covered the front with a blue floral patterned paper.  To the bottom of the card I added a piece of evening surf card stock with a dark blue ribbon added across the center of it.  I added 3 blue Twinkle Goose Bumps to the center of the ribbon.  To the top of the card I cut a piece of vibrant blue card stock and added it to a piece of the evening surf card stock.  I punched the bottom of the evening surf using an eyelet lace border punch.  I colored the iamge and backed it in evening surf and then again in white and added it to one side of the vibrant blue card stock.  I stamped hearts beside the image and colored them in with markers.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
