Love Ewe

I made this valentine using this week's freebie at Delightful Inspiration. I colored the image using crayola colored pencils. I added white flocking for wool and Christmas red stickles to the heart. The sketch I used is from the challenge at Create 4 Fun. I flipped the sketch, added a wider ribbon and used 2 large flowers instead of the 3 small ones.

Snowy Hug

I made this Christmas card using snowy hug from Magnolia Stamps. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. This image is perfect for the challenges at Christmas Card Challenge (snowmen), Stamp With Fun (snow) and Creative Belli Blog (snow). The colors I used are blue and white for the challenges at Oh Alice (Icy Blue Color Scheme), Magnolia Stamp Lovers (blues), Papertake Weekly (Cold & Frosty Morning) and Make It Colorful (warm/cool colors). I added crystal stickles to all the white cardstock, the snowflakes, the image and on the ribbon for the challenge at Ooh La La (bling it on).

It's hard to see in this photo but I embossed the background using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots). This fits into the challenges at Winter Wonderland (lets go dotty), Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge (tons of texture) and Catch The Bug (emboss it).

Cherish The Little Things

This is the card that I made for the DT call at Prairie Fairy. Roberta gave this free valentine image to use to create a card/project for anyone interested in entering the design team call. Isn't this image adorable?!? It's called Sending U Love 2. I backed it in red cardstock and added it to the base of my card which is pink cardstock backed in red. I added a white paper heart doily behind the image and added Christmas red stickles to the red cardstock and to the heart on the image. I added a pink paper flower with a glittery red and white heart button to the bottom left corner and three smalll glittery red hearts to the upper right corner. I added crystal stickles to the edges of the flower. The sentiment I used, "cherish the little things", is also backed in red with Christmas red stickles added to the red cardstock.

A Valentine

This is my first valentine for 2011. I used this adorable puppy image from Karen's Doodles called I Didn't Do It! The sketch that I used is from this week's challenge at Fresh Brewed Designs. I created my card using brandy wine, mauve ice, vintage pink and white cardstock. The base of my card is vintage pink that is backed in white and then again in brandy wine. I added crystal stickles to the white cardstock. I then cut 2 strips of mauve ice and added it to white. On the white cardstock I punched a border on both the top and the bottom using a lace heart border punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. I left a thin strip of white between the two pieces of mauve ice and added crystal stickles to it. I then added a strip of wine & white dotted ribbon to the top and bottom to hide the seam of where the mauve ice and white meet.

I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I backed the image in brandy wine and then in white and added crystal stickles to the white. I also added crystal stickles to the collar to look like gems. I added a pink paper flower backed in a green paper flower. I used the green paper flower as the leaves and added a pink rhinestone to the center of the flower. Then I added some crystal stickles to the pink flower and finished off my card by adding 3 pink rhinestones to the right side of the card. I added all the glitter and rhinestones for the all that glitters challenge at Karen's Doodles and the sparkle and shine challenge at Bunny Zoes.

Birthday Card

I made this birthday card using the dragonfly image from Daisy's Digi Doodles. I created this card using light purple, dark purple and white. The base of my card is light purple backed in a glittery white cardstock and then backed again in a dark purple. I added lavender stickles to the dark purple layer. I printed the sentiment out in the lower left hand corner and cut it out in a larger square just a little smaller than the base of my card. I backed the sentiment in the same way that I created the base of the card. I colored the dragonfly twice using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I cut both of them out and layered one on top of the other gluing just the body of the top one down and leaving the wings unattatched. I added lavender stickles to the areas on the dragonfly that I colored dark purple and crystal stickles to the area on the dragonfly that was colored lighter purples and left white. I did this to both the top and bottom layers of wings. I added lavender stickles to the dragonfly's body. To keep the top wings up away from the bottom wings I added a pearl onto the bottom wing near the body. I added the dragonfly to the upper left corner of the sentiment square and a purple paper flower to the bottom right corner. The leaves behind the purple flower is created by layering the purple flower onto a green flower. I then added a light purple pearl to the center of the flower and finished off my card by adding 3 purple pearls to the upper right corner. Here is a view of my card laying down so you can see how the wings look a little better. The wings hide the pearls just enough so that you can't tell that they are there unless you are looking for them.
