Snowy Hug

This week at 2 Sisters our challenge is to create a card/project using our favorite stamp (rubber or digital).  Snowy Hug is my favorite Christmas stamp from Magnolia Stamps.

Mary

I started with a kraft card base. I added a piece of teal card stock.  I cut a smaller piece of teal striped card stock and backed it in kraft card stock. I cut a piece of kraft card stock and punched the bottom edge using an eyelet lace border punch.  I wrapped a piece of teal baker's twine around it 3 times and added it to the bottom of the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and backed it in teal card stock and then again in kraft card stock.  I added the image to the middle and tucked the bottom edge in just behind the baker's twine.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, backed it in teal card stock and again in kraft card stock and added it to the bottom corner of the card.  I punched a snowflake out of white card stock and then punched a star out of teal card stock. I layered the star onto the snowflake and added it to the bottom corner of the image.  I added a white pearl to the center of the star and 3 more to the upper corner of the card.  I added irridescent glitter glue to the snowflake, and to the image.  I added feldspar glitter glue to the star and to the stars on the sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges....

Sneaky Tilda

This month at Magnolia-licious Highlites the challenge is to take a holiday stamp and create 2 projects for different occasions.  I created a birthday card and a Christmas tag using Sneaky Tilda from Magnolia's Merry Little Christmas 2010 stamp release.

Both images were colored using crayola and prisma colored pencils.

I created the birthday card using 2 shades of blue card stock.  I punched a border onto a trip of white card stock using an eyelet lace border punch.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card. I added a blue ribbon, white and light blue paper flower and blue pearls to finish off the card.

I am also entering the card into the following challenges:

Oldie But A Goodie: Ribbon  (6+ month item ~ stamp)

Dream Valley Challenges: Celebrations

Stamptacular Sunday: Less Is More

To create the Christmas tag I cut the tag shape out of kraft card stock and punched the bottom edge using the same eyelet lace border punch that I used on the card.  I cut a strip of christmas plaid patterned paper and backed it in red card stock.  I aded a sparkly gold ribbon and red baker's twine.  I added it to the middle of the tag. I cut the image completely out and added pop dots to it to add dimension to the tag.  I stamped the sentiment onto kraft card stock and backed it in red card stock and added it at an angle under the bow.  I punched a hole in the top and added a piece of red baker's twine.

I am also entering the tag into the following challenges:

Thinking Of You

I created this thank you card for our pastors mother. She recently fell and has not been able to attend church lately. So I wanted to make her a thinking of you card to let her know we miss her.

The sketch I used is from this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I rotated it one turn to place the flower in the lower right corner instead of the upper right corner.

I started with a white card base and covered it with a piece of distressed aqua dotted patterned paper.  I cut a smaller piece of the same patterned paper and backed it in lipstick card stock and then again in white card stock.  I added it to the card.  I cut two pieces of distressed raspberry patterned paper into two sizes. I backed each in hawaiian orchid card stock and then again in white.  I added both pieces to the card.

I colored the image (Rosy Posy from Lily of the Valley) using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment using pink chalk ink and then just a touch of chestnut ink.  The distressing is for this week's challenge at Delightful Challenges. I backed them both (image and sentiment) in pearlescent aqua card stock and then again in white card stock.

I added 3 pieces of aqua baker's twine down the card next to the image.  I layered a burgundy paper flower onto a white paper flower and added an aqua rhinestone to the center of it.  Then added it to the bottom corner of the image.  I added the sentiment at an angle so the edge was tucked behind the top of the flower. This week's challenge at Lili's Little Fairies is flower power.  I also added 3 mini aqua rhinestones to the smaller strip of patterned paper at the top of the card.

In addition to the challenges mentioned above I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Moving Along With The Times: Girly, Prim and Proper

Bundled Little Snowboy

Good morning! Today at 2 Sisters the DT is sharing some more inspiration for our black and white plus 1 color challenge.  I used this adorable snowman from Meljens called Bundled Little Snowboy.

To create my card I started with a black card base and added a piece of blue card stock.  To the bottom of the card I added a smaller piece of blue that I had backed in black. To the top of that I had added a piece of white card stock that I had punched the bottom edge using a drippy goo punch.  I added a black ribbon to the top of it and crystal stickles to the drippy goo to make it look more like icicles.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and backed it in blue and then again in black.  I punched 3 small snowflakes using a snowflake corner punch.  I added crystal stickles to each one and a blue rhinestone to the center of each one.

Best Witches

I created this Halloween card using Fancy Sunbonnet Witch from Bugaboo Stamps. I started with a black card base. I added a piece of purple card stock backed in green card stock. I added a strip of green plaid card stock to the left side and then added a piece of purple dotted patterned paper backed in black card stock across the top.  I punched a piece of black card stock using a spiderweb border punch and added it across the bottom of the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and added faux stitching around the image.  I backed the image and the sentiment in green and then black and added them to the card.  I stamped the spider directly onto the card. I added green glitter to the hat and dress.  I also added gold glitter to the shoes and hat.  It's hard to see in the image but I added black glitter to the black card stock around the image, sentiment, purple patterned paper and to the spiderweb punched border.

With Love At Christmas

I created this Christmas card using Pati's Kisses from Elisabeth Bell.  I started with a burgundy card base. I added a piece of pastel blue card stock backed in white.  I cut a large strip and a thin strip of burgundy card stock.  I backed them both in white card stock and punched a lace border at the bottom of the large strip.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma color pencils.  I backed it in burgundy, then white, then pastel blue and then again in white.  I added it to the left side middle of the card.  I layered a blue paper flower onto a white paper flower.  I also punched a small white snowflake and added it to the blue flower.  I added a red pearl to the center of the snowflake and then added two white pearls to the thin strip of red card stock.  I stamped the sentiment "with love at Christmas" directly onto the bottom of the card.

Fisher-moose

Well, I'm finally back...taking it very slowly...but I'm back.  I'm able to sit at the table long enough to be crafty for a couple hours.  For those that don't know, back at the beginning of August I had surgery on my spine.  They had to remove part of my disc located at the C5/C6 area of my spine and replace it with a bone plug and plate to keep it in place.  So for the last month I have been taking it easy to help with the healing process.  Over the past couple of weeks I have started to slowly get back into the swing of things.  Anyway...enough about me......

This is a birthday card I created today for a friend at church who loves fishing.  The image I used is from Meljens and is called Fisher Moose.
