Nativity

So when I saw this image from Mo's Digital Pencil I knew I just had to have it for some of my Christmas cards this year.  In A Manger is the perfect image to show what the true meaning of Christmas is, the birth of Jesus.

The sketch that I used is from this week's Inkspirations challenge.

To create this card I started with a base of kraft card stock.  I added a piece of celestial blue card stock just a little smaller than the base.  I added a square of brown dotted paper and a strip of brown and blue striped paper.  To the bottom of the stripped paper I added a piece of kraft card stock that I punched using an eyelet lace border punch.  I added  piece of brown sugar baker's twine just above the punched kraft border.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and cut it out in an oval.  I backed it in kraft and then again in celestial blue and then cut around it using scalloped scissors.

I punched two stars out of kraft card stock and added gold stickles and a off white pearl to the center of each one.  To finish the card I added three off white pearls to the upper corner and crystal stickles to the angel's wings.

Ragged Santa

I created this Christmas card with Ragged Santa from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I started with a card base made of kraft card stock.  I inked the edges using a chestnut brown ink pad.  I cut 4 equal rectangles out of Christmas plaid paper and inked the edges.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I inked the edges of the image and the sentiment an backed them in burgundy card stock.  I tucked a piece of boutique moss ribbon behind the bottom of the image with just a little bit sticking out.  I finished the card by adding 3 cream pearls to the upper corner.

Vintage Santa

To make this Christmas card I decided to try a technique I've never tried before.  I stamped Quiet Santa from Whiff Of Joy onto kraft card stock.  (I usually stamp on white). The base of my card is kraft card stock. I inked the edges using a chestnut brown ink pad.  I added a piece of Christmas plaid card stock.  For a little contrast to the dark greens and reds in the plaid card stock I cut a strip of sage green card stock and inked the edges using the same brown inkpad.  I added it to  a piece of kraft card stock that I punched using an eyelet lace border punch and inked the edges of it. I added a boutique moss ribbon and brown sugar baker's twine to the top of it.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I inked the edges with the brown ink pad.  I stamped the sentiment beside the image on the sage green.  I finished off the card by adding 3 off white pearls to the upper corner and a bow to the twine.

Snowman Card Set

I created this set of Christmas cards using Snowie With Snowflake from Magnolia.  The set includes one card in the following colors (pink, blue, yellow, purple and green).  I started with a white card base.  I cut another piece of white card stock a little smaller than the base. I stamped the snowman on one side and in the opposite bottom corner I stamped the sentiment. After I colored the snowman I backed it in the matching card stock color and added it to the card base.  I added crystal stickles to the snowflake and the bottom of the snowman.  I added a rhinestone to the center of the snowflake and 3 more to the upper corner above the sentiment.

Let It Snow

I created this Christmas card using Snowball from Pollycraft. The base of my card is aqua card stock.  I cut a piece of lavender card stock just a little smaller than the card base.  I cut a strip of lavender gingham patterned paper and backed it in aqua and white after I punched each with an eyelet lace border punch.  I added a piece of aqua ribbon to the middle of the gingham paper and then added it to the center of the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and cut it out in an oval. I backed both the image and the sentiment in aqua and cut around them using scalloped scissors.  I added snowflakes to the corner of the image and to the sentiment.  I added crystal stickles to the snowflakes and on the image (snow, snowballs and wings) and added a lavender pearl to the center of each snowflake.  I finished off the card by adding two aqua pearls to the upper corner and two to the bottom corner.

Snowmen Carolers

So today I have another Christmas card to show you.  This is Snowmen Carolers, a new image that you can find at The Crafting Boutique.  I started this card using a base of red card stock. I cut a piece of green dotted patterned paper a little smaller than the card base and backed it in white card stock before adding it to the card.  I cut a piece of red card stock and backed it in white and punched one edge of the white using an eyelet lace border punch.  I added a christmas gingham ribbon to the center of the red.  I added this to one side of the card and added a snowflake that I punched out of white card stock to the bottom of the ribbon.  I added crystal stickles and a green pearl to the snowflake.
I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I backed it in red card stock and then again in white and added it to the card. I added a bow made of the same Christmas gingham ribbon to the corner of the image and added a snowflake charm to it. I added crystal stickles to the snow under the snowmen and then added 3 white pearls to finish the card.

Merry Little Christmas

This is my take on this month's sketch at CLP Challenges.  I created a Christmas card using Sneaky Tilda from Magnolia Stamps.  The base of my card is hunter green.  I cut a piece of Christmas plaid card stock a little smaller than the base of the card and backed it in merry card stock.  I cut a tag out of tan card stock. To the top of the tag I added a piece of crackled green patterned paper that I punched the edge using an eyelet lace border punch.  I added a piece of brown sugar baker's twin and a bow to the tag and added it to the card.  I cut a piece of tan card stock and punched the bottom edge using the same eyelet lace border punch.  I added a piece of hunter green ribbon and a piece of brown sugar baker's twine across the middle of it and added it to the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and backed it in merry card stock.  I added a off white satin flower to a sage green crocheted flower to the corner of the image.  I added a red and green hat pin to the flower. I finished off the front of the card by adding cream pearls to the top corner.

I finished the inside of the card by cutting a piece of crackled green card stock a little smaller than the card base. I backed it in merry cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and backed it in merry.  Then I cut a piece of the Christmas plaid card stock a little bigger than the sentiment and backed it in tan card stock.

Warm Wishes and a DT Call

Whiff Of Joy Challenge blog is looking for some new crafters for their design team.  I am entering this Christmas card using this week's sketch and this adorable Henry Mouse With Hot Chocolate rubber stamp.

I used the colors red, citrus teal and white. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I added frosted lace and christmas red stickles to the snowflakes, Henry's scarf and his hat. I also added teal rhinestones to the snowflakes.  I added piece of teal with snowflakes ribbon behind the image.  I used a snowflake border punch to help make the red cardstock below the sentiment pop a little.  Then I added a little red baker's twine to it and tucked the corner of the sentiment into it.  The white strip of cardstock at the bottom is embossed using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots). Christmas Mice

I created this Christmas card for the spy day challenge at TGF's Farm Fresh Challenges.  The inspiration I used from the spy day card was the sketch and twine.  The base of my card is kraft card stock.  I cut a piece of citrus teal card stock a little smaller than the card and backed it in red card stock.  I added red bakers twine across the middle of the card.  The snowflakes that I added are thin plastic snowflake ornaments that I found at the dollar store.  I colored the image, Candy Cane Snack,  using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I backed it in red and then again in kraft.  I stamped the sentiment onto kraft card stock and backed it in red.  I made a bow out of the red bakers twine and added it to the twine across the middle. I added a red heart rhinestone to the sentiment and 3 red rhinestones to the bottom corner of the card.
