Halloween Candle

I created this candle to use as decoration at a harvest party we will be having tomorrow night at our church. This is my first try at decorating a candle.  I found this great tutorial on how to decorate a candle at Whiff of Joy.  You can see that tutorial by going here.   The image I used, Pippi, is from CC Designs.  I stamped the image onto a piece of white tissue paper.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  After coloring and cutting around the image I added it to the candle. I have a couple tips to help add the image to your candle. In the tutorial it says to use a heat gun.  My first tip is if you do not own a heat gun you can use a hair dryer in it's place. That is what I have done here.  Just be careful that you don't melt the candle too much.  My second tip is that you can hold the image in place with a piece of wax paper.  Just firmly hold the wax paper around the candle with the image in place underneath.  Make sure the waxy side of the paper is down and then add heat.

After I added the image to the candle I finished it by decorating it with three orange rhinestones and some orange baker's twine.  I also added some crystal stickles to the wings.

With Love

With Christmas just around the corner. . . . 62 Days!!!..... I decided it was time to get a move on my Christmas cards.  I created this 5"x5" square card using Snowy Hug from Magnolia Stamps.   The sketch I used is from A Gem Of A Challenge
The embossing across the middle is done using a cuttlebug embossing folder (snowflakes) and is for the challenges at Charisma Cardz and One Stitch At A Time.  I added a little brown sugar baker's twine across the middle of the embossed strip. For the double or nothing challenge at Beary Sweet Challenges I used 2 colors (brown and blue), 2 small snowflakes, 2 large snowflakes, 2 words (with love), 2 brown pearls, 2 blue pearls and 2 characters in the image.  The challenge at ABC Christmas is to use your unused stash.  My unused stash is the cuttlebug embossing folder.  I've had it for a while but this is my first time using it. I punched snowflakes out of white card stock for the getting punchy challenge at Magnolia Down Under. I added crystal stickles to the snowflakes and the snowman for the sparkly challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long

GDT Call @ Digi Bells DT

The Digi Bells Design Team is looking for their next guest design team.  The challenge this time around is to create a card/project using the provided sketch and any Elisabeth Bell image.  I love Elisabeth Bell's images so when I heard about this GDT call I just had to try out.  So here's the sketch . . . .

And here's the card I created using Lil Princess Tutu from Elisabeth's digi line . . . .

To create my card I started with a black 5" x 5" square card base. I cut a piece of lily pond card stock just a little smaller and distressed the edges with a black ink pad.  I cut a strip of black card stock and punched both sides using a lace heart border punch. Then added it going down the side of the card. I cut three 1" x 2" strips of purple card stock.  On the end of each I punched the middle using a corner rounder.  I inked the edges using a black ink pad and added a black heart to each one. (The black hearts are left from using the border punch.)  To each heart I added black glitter.  I then embossed a piece of white card stock using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots).  I inked the edges and added ink across all the embossing using the black inkpad.  I then back it in black card stock and added it to the center of the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I backed the image in black card stock and added black glitter to the vest, tutu and boots.  I added the image to the card center. Here's a closer view of the image. . . . .

I stamped the birthday sentiment on white card stock, inked around the edges and then backed it in black card stock.  I then added it to the upper corner of the image.  I punched a black heart using a scalloped heart punch and added black glitter.  I then backed it in purple, cut around it and added it to the bottom corner of the card. I finished it off by added a purple paper daisy with black pearl to the center of the glittered heart and two purple rhinestone hearts to the upper corner.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Baby Girl

I created this baby girl card using Sassy Cheryl's Special Stork Deliver Girl digital stamp. I inked around the edge of the white base using a pastel pink chalk inkpad.  I cut a piece of lily pond green cardstock just a little smaller than the base. I added more pastel pink ink to the edges.  I cut a  piece of patterned paper.  I punched a piece of white cardstock using an eyelet laceborder punch and added it to the bottom of the patterned paper.  I  inked the edges and added it across the card middle. I also added a green ribbon and pink bakers twine.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I inked around the edges of the image and the sentiment.  I added a handmade white crocheted flower.  I added a pink button with a bow made out of pink bakers twine to the center of the flower.

Pumpkin

This is the finished project of what I had posted earlier this morning that I was working on.  Isn't this pumpkin just the cutest!!
It's made with terracotta plant pots, paint, chennelle wire and felt.  It's really easy to create.  You start with a large terracotta plant pot with matching base.  You paint them both orange and glue the base onto the top of the plant pot.  Then paint a smaller terracotta plant pot brown and glue it upside down to the very top center.  Using a black paint marker add whatever pumpkin face you would like to add along with lines going down the pumpkin (all the way around). Finish the face by adding a few white lines for highlites using a white paint marker. Curl a green chennelle wire around a pencil and glue it into the hole in the top of the brown pot.  Cut 3 leaves from green felt and add vines with a black paint marker.  Glue them onto the top of the pumpkin. Using clear glitter paint, add glitter to the top of the pumpkin, stem and a little on the leaves.

Happy Halloween

This is a halloween card that I created today using this adorable witch digi from Crafty Sentiments called Annabel Pumpkin Witch.  The sketch that I used is from this month's challenge at CLP. The base of my easel card is black card stock.  For the front of the card I cut a square piece of orange card stock just a little smaller.  I stamped a spiderweb in the upper corner and used a black inkpad to add distressing around the edges.  To that I added a piece of black card stock that I punched the edge using an eyelet lace border punch.  I cut a strip of orange, stamped the corners with a spiderweb stamp and distressed the edges with black ink.  I added that to a piece of black cardstock that I punched the bottom using the eyelet lace border punch. I added a piece of black licorice baker's twine just above the punched strip.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I distressed the edges using a black ink pad.  I added it to the card tucking the bottom corner under the baker's twine. I added five spiders all over the front.  To create the spiders I punched mini spiders out of black card stock and added beetle black glitter to them.
For the bottom of the card I cut a square piece of orange card stock and stamped spiderwebs in each corner.  I distressed the edges using a black ink pad. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock. I stamped a small piece of the spiderweb in the two top corners and distressed it with a black ink pad.  I added some more of the black glitter spiders.

This is a close up of the spiders.

Christmas Wishes

Here is a Christmas card that I made using Santa Christmas from Karen's Doodles. The base of my card is cream card stock backed in burgundy card stock.  I added a piece of green card stock. To the bottom of the green I added a piece of burgundy that I punched using an eyelet lace border punch.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and backed it first in burgundy and then in cream.  I added a bit of brown sugar baker's twine with a snowflake charm attatched with a bow.  I added a sentiment from Annette. You can get that freebie by going here. I added a little color to the wording in the center and around the edges. I backed it in burgundy and cut around it using scalloped scissors.  I added 3 burgundy pearls to the top corner and 1 to the center of the snowflake charm.
