Karen's Doodles Design Team Call

Karen's Doodles is having a design team call!!  They are looking for 5 new Doodle Princesses!! How cool is that!! When I read about this I knew that I had to take a chance and enter.  I absolutely love the cuteness of Karen's images. So you can imagine how excited I would be to have an opportunity to create for such an amazing artist. So with a huge goofy grin on my face and my fingers crossed I am entering this card into the Karen's Doodles Design Team Call.....

I decided to use two of Karen's images on my card, Parade Day Girl and Parade Day Boy. Aren't they just the cutest! Getting ready to celebrate the 4th and thanking the soldiers for all they do for us. The sketch that I used is from Sweet Sunday Sketch

I used red cardstock for the base of my card.  I cut two squares out of navy with stars patterned paper and backed them in white. I added one to the upper left corner and one to the bottom right corner.  I colored the image using colored pencils and backed it in red and then again in white. I added it to the middle of the card. I backed the thank you sentiment in navy blue and then again in white.  I finished off the card by adding three white stars with blue gems to the upper right corner.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Happy Anniversary

I created this anniversary card using this adorable digi from The Greeting Farm called Dance Fever.  The sketch that I used is from this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp.  The base of my card is cream backed in aqua.  I added a piece of dotted patterned paper backed in aqua to the middle right and a piece of aqua to the left side.  I added a strip of aqua and gray striped patterned paper across the middle. I colored the image using colored pencils and cut it out in a circle. I backed the image and sentiment in aqua and then again in cream.  To finish, I added three dark aqua pearls to the upper right corner. I also layered a white paper flower on top of an aqua paper flower and added a dark aqua pearl to the center and added it to the left of the image.

Perfectly Purple

Good afternoon ladies! I had a really great day today. My mom, sister and two of my nephews came up today.  While the kids all played...video games of course... my mom, sister and I got a little crafty and made some cards. So I've got a few cards to share with you today.  My first card is for the perfect purples challenge at Karen's Doodles.  The image I used is called Love At First Sight.  The base of my card is wild pansy (purple) backed in grape (dark purple).  I punched a strip of white cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and added it to a strip of purple plaid cardstock.  Then added it to the left side of the card.  I added a white satin ribbon across the middle of the card. I colored the image using different shade of purple colored pencils. I backed it in grape and then again in white and added it to the right side of the card.  I created a bow out of the white satin ribbon and added it to the left side and finished off the card by adding two white pearls above the photo and two white pearls below the photo.

Wordart Wednesday at FaithfullyYours.net

I am so excited to announce that I have been asked to be a guest designer at FaithfullyYours.net!!!  FaithfullyYours.net is a Christian based scrapbooking company created by Dawn Stegall.  Dawn started the company when she searched online for more information on faithbooking and couldn't find enough to satisfy her desire to learn more. If you're looking for faith based paper crafting supplies you've got to check out Dawn's store.  On my card I've used one of the wordart digis, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, that you can find by going here. This is one of my favorite Bible verses.

The base of my card is sugar and spice cardstock. I added a light pink and light orange striped patterned paper to the top. I cut the wordart into a square and inked the edges using a pink chalk inkpad and added it to the top of the card.  I punched a strip of white cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and added a pink ribbon to the top of it.  I added it below the word art. I made a bow out of the same ribbon and added it to the right side of the ribbon.  To finish off the card I added pearls around the wordart and 3 heart pearls to the bottom left corner.

You can see the Wordart Wednesday post by clicking here.

It's Your Birthday...

I made this card for one of the boys in my Sunday School class. He will be 6 on Friday.  Zach's favorite color is yellow so I  used yellow as the base of my card.  I added stripped patterned paper to the top half with the stripes going vertical. I punched a piece of white cardstock using a double loop punch and added a piece of the same striped paper to the top of it.  This time with the stripes going horizontal.
To create Zach's name at the bottom of the card I took a piece of alphabet blocked paper and cut out each letter.  The image that I used is from Doodle Dragons Studio. I colored it using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I backed the image in blue and added it to the top middle of the card.  I stamped the sentiment onto the same patterned paper and backed it in blue and added it to the upper left corner of the the image.  I added two orange star buttons.  One to the bottom left corner of the image and one to the top right corner of the card.

I added that to the bottom of the card.  I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils.  I backed the image in pink and then in white and added it to the left side of the card.  I added a bow made out of the same ribbon to the left side of the image.  I added a yellow flower to the right upper corner of the image.  I stamped the image and backed it in pink and then in white and added it to the bottom right corner.  I added a 6mm white heart pearl to the flower and both ends of the ribbon.  I also added 4mm white pearls to the upper right corner and and lower left corner.
