Bright Fun Retro Birthday

Here is a birthday card that I made today. I've been holding onto this patterned paper for a while now. But when I was looking through my paper stash today I knew that it would be perfect for a bright fun retro birthday card. So what do you think? Does it say retro? I wasn't sure if I was going to like it at first. But as I was building it I loved how it was coming out. The patterned paper that I used is from Frances Meyer. I started with that paper and then built everything else around it.

I am entering it into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin: Pimp Your Card (turquoise gemstones)

The Sweet Stop: Sketch

Whimsical Wednesdays The Diedrich Dare: Photo Inspiration

Stampavie & More: Summer

Cupcake Crafts: Summer Delights

Just Magnolia: Hot & Spicy

The Pink Elephant: Bright Colors

Everybody Art: Summer

Doodle Palace: Retro Themed

Spider-mouse

On Saturday Katharina gave this freebie Henry Mouse digital stamp. Cute isn't it? This digi is called Spider Henry and was illustrated by Alison Acton for Whiff of Joy. Thank you Katharina for this adorable digi. I know a few boys who love Spiderman and are going to love Spider Henry.

It's very hard to see in this picture but if you look closely at the strip of white cardstock across the middle of my card you will see that it is embossed. I embossed it using the Fiskars Webbing Texture Plate. I made the star but didn't want a perfect star. So I cut the points all at different lengths.

I am adding this card into the following challenges:

Ann's Creative Nook: Red, White & Blue

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle: Red, White & Blue

Tuesday Taggers: Touchy Feely Texture (embossing)

Create 4 Fun: Sketch

Annabelle Stamps: Ribbon

Aly Sunday Challenge: Ribbon and/or Bows
