A Monochromatic Birthday Card

This is the birthday card that I made for my sister, Jessica. The sketch that I used is from this months challenge at Crafting Life's Pieces. The image that I used is called Brooklyn Babe from Kenny K Downloads. The base of my card is created by taking a square of white cardstock and inking the edges using a pastel pink chalk inkpad and then backed it in berry blush cardstock. I punched the bottom of a strip of white cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and then inked the edges using the same ink pad. I cut and embossed a strip small square of white cardstock using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots) and then inked the edges and lightly across the top of the dots with the same inkpad. Then I cut a strip of white cardstock and inked the edges in the same way. Then I stamped the birthday sentiment on the bottom side of the strip of cardstock. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. I inked the edges in the same way as the rest of the card. I added three pink sprinkles from Annabelle Stamps to the upper right corner.

This is my take on this week's Mystery Monday challenge at Club Anya & Friends. The image I used is from the Happy Day Stamp Set from The Greeting Farm. The base of my card is spring breeze backed in chestnut brown. I added brown chalk to the edges of the spring breeze. I cut strips out of white, spring breeze and pastel blue and added brown chalk to the edges of each. Then backed each one in chestnut brown. I also added brown chalk to the edges of the image and sentiment and backed it in chestnut brown. I added brown chalk to the blue chipboard star (it's hard to see in this photo) and added it to the upper corner of the card.

Birthday Wishes

I created this birthday card using this adorable Kenny K image called Troublemaker. The sketch that I used is from this week's challenge at A Spoonfull Of Sugar. The base of my card is berry blush backed in white and then backed again in spring breeze. I then cut two pieces of spring breeze, backed them both in white and added them to the card. I then cut a strip of white cardstock and punched the bottom edge using a doily lace border punch and added a pink and white gingham ribbon to the top of the strip of white. I added that on top of the two pieces of green. I then cut a square out of berry blush, backed it in white, added the sentiment to the bottom corner and then added it on top of the white strip. I colored the image using prisma and crayola colored pencils. I cut the image out in an oval, backed it in berry blush and then backed it again in white and cut around the white using scalloped scissors. I then cut a flower out of berry blush using the cricut cartridge Mother's Day Bouquet. I also cut out a different flower from white using the same cartridge. I added three pearls to the upper corner of the berry blush square and one to the center of the flower.

Basset Girl

I created this thinking of you easel card using Basset Girl from Karen's Doodles. The base of my card is spring breeze cardstock. I finished two of the corners by punching along one edge of a strip of purple cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and then fitted it to the card by wrapping the edges around the back. I colored the image using crayola colored pencils and cut it out in a circle. I inked around the edge of the circle using a purple chalk ink pad and then backed it in purple cardstock. I cut it out using scalloped scissors (or as my 7year old would call them "crazy scissors"). I cut the sentiment "thinking of you" out and inked the edges using the purple chalk ink pad and then backed it in purple cardstock. I added two white heart pearls to the sentiment. I then added a paper rose that I made using a retro flower punch and two swirls of white pearls on each side of the flower. Each swirl has eight pearls. The base of the bottom of the card is also spring breeze. I punched a strip of purple cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch. I added a green and white dotted ribbon to the top of the purple cardstock and added white pearls along the ribbon (11 total).

Hippity Hop

I created this card using Wanna Be Bunny Girl from Sassy Cheryls. I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils and finished the background of the image using blue and green chalk. For the base of my card I took a square piece of white cardstock and inked the edges using a pastel pink chalk ink pad and then backed it in pastel pink cardstock. I cut a strip of white cardstock and emossed it using a cuttlebug embossing folder (dots). I then inked the edges using the pastel pink chalk ink pad and backed it in pastel pink cardstock. I punched along a strip of pastel pink cardstock using an eyelet lace border punch and added a piece of light pink and white dotted ribbon to the top of it. I backed the image in pastel pink cardstock. I cut the pink swirls from a strip of felt swirl embellishment. I created the sentiment in the same way as the background. I created the flower by using a retro flower punch. I punched five flowers out of white cardstock and inked the edges using the pastel pink chalk ink pad. Then I layered each flower on top of each other and added a pink rhinestone to the center. I curled each petal to give it more dimension. I finished off the card by adding pink rhinestones.

Teddy Bear Birthday

I created this birthday card using this adorable teddy bear digital stamp that my sister Stacy drew. Her online store, The Crafting Boutique, will be opening on April 1st. She will be selling digital stamps, handmade beaded stick pins and handmade paper roses.

I colored the image using crayola and prisma colored pencils. The base of my card is lavender rosebuds patterned paper from Paper Pizzazz. I added three strips of cardstock behind my image, lavender, blue and green. I punched the bottom of the green strip using an eyelet lace border punch. I backed the image in lavender. I layered a green, purple and white paper flower on top of each other and added a blue pearl to the center. The sentiment that I added to my card actually hangs from the flower. I added a blue pearl to the corner of the sentiment and then three more to the bottom corner.

Birthday Card For A Teenage Girl

I made this card using the sketch from this week's challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz. The image that I used is called All That. I created the patterned paper by stamping two different sized stars using black ink onto a sheet of white cardstock. I colored the center of each star light pink. I created the flower using a retro flower punch. I punched each flower out of white cardstock and inked the edge of each petal with a light pink ink. Then layered 5 flowers together and added a black pear to the center. I slightly curled the edges of each petal to give the flower a little more dimension.
